Optical deformation control on moulded parts in cooperation with a robot
We have integrated camera inspection into the press machines to capture possible underflows and upgraded the lighting required for reliable evaluation.
We replaced the original bulky floodlights with industrial lights in the IR spectrum, resulting in a significant reduction in energy consumption for the customer. In addition, the need to cover the inspection site due to operator glare was eliminated.
In this case, the ELVAC Vision solution uses neural networks, which are constantly being improved. Once they have been trained on existing products, they can be advantageously used for faster integration of new products into video surveillance.
The key strengths of ELVAC Vision in this project are:
- Integration of communication with existing customer information system
- Detection of a wide range of surface deformations
- Easy addition of new products by the customer
